So true. South Side Jimmy, Los Angeles Stef, and Max are the tough crowd. ;) Love every minute.

I never thought I'd live to see this. The cowardice staggers me. I never thought Americans could be manipulated like this with fear, and by a disease with at most a 2% case fatality rate -- meaning at most 2% of the people who get really sick and know it. A cancer diagnosis, or silent heart attack, with a 98%++ cure rate is a reason to celebrate. And unlike cancer, this hardly ever affects children.

@jaketrons4376 This is the basic logic of traditional live attenuated vaccination. Using any potentially dangerous new technology to generate such viruses needs to be amply justified. After what just happened, I think it cannot be justified, at least until we find out where COVID 19 came from. If at all!

Too soon. But keeping an eye on it for sure.

Finally: a scientific reason for hope.

To some degree and temporarily, yes. The vaccines do reduce transmission. As long as the vaccinated don't refuse tests and social distancing and PPE, like they accuse the unvaccinated of doing. The efficacy of vaccines declines before they know about it, and before it affects their own risk of severe COVID.

Political process -- Brandon cannot singlehandedly force mandates. Other branches are pushing back.
