Nineteen States brought this suit. I thought the right believes in States' rights.

People who make justice impossible make Luigi inevitable. Well, I hope not, but . . . I would not risk this. 😒

Too bad Elon didn't assemble a team of auditors, huh?

Nineteen states brought suit in a court of competent jurisdiction, and the order was issued keeping matters in place pending a hearing, and a new hearing date was set for February 14. You don't believe in State's Rights? Or, you never look at court papers and just Believe? 😅

@musicallyassureddestruction It was a clerical error. The clarification was not strictly necessary, but was to cure a possible ambiguity. The duly-confirmed Treasury Secretary was at no time in danger of being held in contempt of court. THAT would be judicial overreach. Learn to read the actual court papers, or suffer the talking heads. AI should REALLY be fun.

@RobertPenner No, that confirms it was a clerical error. The clarification was not strictly necessary, but was to cure a possible ambiguity. The Treasury Secretary was at no time in danger of being held in contempt of court. THAT would be overreach. Learn to read court papers, or suffer the talking heads. AI should REALLY be fun.

Since Marbury v. Madison, it is the federal courts who state what the law is. They can preserve the status quo on all sorts of things pending a hearing, and this one was set for February 14. Nineteen states brought suit in a court of competent jurisdiction. What happened to state's rights?

@musicallyassureddestruction Where did you go to law school?

@musicallyassureddestruction You just made a clerical error, calling a defendant a plaintiff.
1
@musicallyassureddestruction Wrong. Holding the Secretary of the Treasury in contempt under these circumstances would have been a constitutional crisis, but even then, the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit would have issued a mandamus to prevent that.
