This was a weak case. Come on.
1
Her son is saying, "thank you" to his mom for helping him on the high monkey bars. ❤
1
It's not evident they did it.
1
There was no evidence of infidelity on her part whatsoever. She was never married to her would-be killer. You made up a story, then got mad at the person you made up in your made-up story. Why is this normal? It isn't, but it sure does happen a lot nowadays.
1
Do you feel the same about her daughters? Especially given that girls tend to stand by dad.
1
Defensive? Tempted to commit crimes and need to despise anyone you see as an enabler?
1
@earthrooster1969 He was the PLAINTIFF.
1
@PatyBN Most defendants never testify. The burden of proof is on the prosecutor.
1
@Team33Team33 Are you mad that woman defense attorney made sense?
1
@jameshunt1444 Actually, this show was manipulative. The case has glaring problems, including the fact that the second perp has never been found and the murderer denies Monica was involved. A lot of what 48 Hours said was speculative.
1
@djlildee You didn't notice the case against her containing a lot of twists and turns? And the second man with the murderer was never caught? Hmm.
1
@MrBobbo18 Watch The Confessions, about four US servicemen, in the Navy to be exact, in Norfolk, Virginia, who were wrongly convicted. Frontline documentary. Everyone should watch that. Then you'll understand.
1
@user-oe1mb9hu9i You've got this wrong. I'm not taking sides. What's the rush? Why are you so up in arms? This is television, not court.
1
@user-oe1mb9hu9i Yes. I certainly support innocent until proven guilty. And the fact is, that principle is practically dead. You are too trusting, not me. I can't tell you how many cases I've seen that appeared more solid than this one, and they turned out to be false convictions. Start by watching The Confessions. If that could be done to our service members, stationed in Virginia no less, then it could be done to anyone.
1
@Team33Team33 For someone who thinks a television show tests evidence, not that it presents what is most likely to gain attention and approval, exactly as its advertisers want it to do, that's rich. 🤣
1
This one really hurt. I will never accept it, never. Believing it is so close to impossible. I'm so, so sorry for all of the families and friends.
1
This is one of those crimes that a person can never accept. Not ever.
1
Wrong. She had a right to remain silent and no duty to help law enforcement. What she had no right to do was to lie to the detectives, even if she only said, "I'm not sure." That was false.
1
@ninedaysjane2466 That someone presumes to judge someone else "because this one is just like one I married" certainly is risible.
1
Because anything can be twisted. Truly, anything.
1
@HeribertoPabon-bq6cv I wish you were right. Unfortunately. . . .
1
Yeah. It took me a long time to realize that if I try pot, I'm not just finding out something cool and new. I am losing the knowledge I would have had of who I would have been if I had never tried pot. Same for every drug.
1
I wish I were shocked.
1
No. It is evidence that she comes from an entirely different culture.
1
@user-tz2ch1im3r Oh, you know Asia now. How long have you lived there? Or is this based on bad moovies?
1
@johnmcquilkin She was a cheerleader in high school.
1
Pfft
1
Probation and a fine is for shoplifting.
1
Always unwise, for both parties concerned. And known to be unwise. Plus, there were plenty of reasons to consider this particular relationship very unwise. Waiting, and possibly going on occasional out-of-town dates, was the only reasonable thing to do. Cool your jets.
1
@Rugelacharugula I don't think that, at least not for the vast majority.
1
@Rugelacharugula Oh, um, she was married her future stalker? And . . . Once divorced, it is much, much easier to do stuff, like move? This wasn't just some stalker. Certain things are easier and safer to do, and you have more options and wider freedom of action, when you are divorced from Psycho and single again.
1
@Rugelacharugula That's nonsense. When confronted with a person like this with whom you HAVE TO litigate, you do what is safest for you. You preserve life and health. What "should be true" has no bearing on it, because what should be true (he gives you a divorce and leaves you alone) is not happening. Do you make everything about ideology? How about pragmatism?

@victormulke3048 HA
1
She clearly disliked him by then.
