Always unwise, for both parties concerned. And known to be unwise. Plus, there were plenty of reasons to consider this particular relationship very unwise. Waiting, and possibly going on occasional out-of-town dates, was the only reasonable thing to do. Cool your jets.

@Rugelacharugula Oh, um, she was married her future stalker? And . . . Once divorced, it is much, much easier to do stuff, like move? This wasn't just some stalker. Certain things are easier and safer to do, and you have more options and wider freedom of action, when you are divorced from Psycho and single again.

@Rugelacharugula That's nonsense. When confronted with a person like this with whom you HAVE TO litigate, you do what is safest for you. You preserve life and health. What "should be true" has no bearing on it, because what should be true (he gives you a divorce and leaves you alone) is not happening. Do you make everything about ideology? How about pragmatism?
