  1. If that were true, it's not relevant. You don't get to kill a person who is on drugs. You don't get a freebee. If that were true, then you could kneel on anyone's neck who has taken an overdose, and say oh well, I didn't do anything criminal to them. I have never seen such a lack of logic in the people who defend Chauvin.

  3.  @myfeelingsarehurt6655  What is relevant is that you cannot shorten a dying person's life. That is a homicide. You cannot shorten a physically fragile person's life. That is a homicide. You cannot shorten a mentally ill person's life. That is a homicide. You cannot shorten a drug addict's life. That is a homicide. There is no "balancing test," taking into account probable lifespan. It could have been days, or hours. It does not matter. If you believe what you profess to believe, you better find a new country to grow old and die in. Because you are too sure that a version of what happened to Floyd won't happen to you, when people decide you aren't so valuable any more, and will kick the bucket soon anyway. Because that's where we are.

  4.  @QuiteTheLady  I never thought I'd live to see anything like it. Especially during COVID. That this is happening during a pandemic, when we should ALL appreciate the sanctity of life, and want to be a little more gentle with each other, is harrowing. Every time I think we've reached a moral bottom, some people will go lower. Why? That's the part I can't understand.

  6.  @Stefanie3  That is exactly what they're saying. I decided to emigrate by 2025, nearly two years ago. I didn't know how sorry I'd be that I didn't take the steps in 2019, once I knew. I don't want to grow old and fragile HERE. Heck no. My closest relatives here all died out. I don't have a crew to protect me any more

  10.  @Stefanie3  Unfortunately, the gun issue is bad. I hate to admit that if we are in a relatively safe area, we get used to it. There is no part of my city that I frequent that does not have an annual shooting. This is what we consider safe. I wish I were exaggerating. But to be candid, you do get a sixth sense about it, to some extent. It's not an illusion, you really do get street smart -- to an extent. I'd rather not know!

I haven't had too much luck in life, but when you consider that maybe one million human beings are Montenegrin, I guess it's special to be one! :)

  14. All of this is irrelevant anyway. I don't know why they are confusing the issue. It's purely an obfuscation technique. You cannot shorten the life of a fragile person, or a suicidal person, or a clearly DYING person. That is a homicide. It doesn't matter if he would have been dead later that night. The defense tactic to push this line is wanton, and misleading. They are doing the whole body politic a disservice. Someone needs to speak up against it.
