  1. "Emotions" are the last thing that could possibly be a factor in cancer. Caitlin Flanagan wrote a lot about that. It is time to put it to rest already.

  2. It's almost never something you did. Roughly half the human race will develop detectable cancer cells, if you include noninvasive cancers (in situ, sometimes called Stage 0). It's not possible that half of humanity did something wrong. And when you include cancer among other mammals, what in the world could they be doing wrong? Apart from smoking, which is usually a choice (unless it's second hand), various forms of pollution as probable triggers come next.
