  5. @Michael James Passed? You mean he proposed it, via a congressman? I'll check that. I did check it, and he did authorize FEMA to use about $8 billion in emergency money for wage assistance. Perhaps that's all he could do himself, but it is only 1% of the current bill being negotiated, which is half of what was proposed before the election. Did anyone in the administration put the pressure on McConnell, or denounce Pelosi for her treachery? Face it, Trump tweets instead of working. Reality television star. Read how Lyndon Johnson used to do it -- Medicare is his legacy.

  6.  @artmathias9725  That wasn't her point about the mall at all. The point was, it was open for business, without any precautions enforced. The point was double standards and no equity of enforcement. She worked so much harder to follow the rules in her establishment, but it still "wasn't good enough." I'm sorry that you find it much more important to guess at someone's political identification (in a country where the plurality considers themselves Independent, no less) than to hear what they have to say. She may have family ties to her state. It's the only reason I ended up in America. I hope I can leave, entirely. Jeering at victims and blaming victims during a crisis -- which is exactly what happened 12 years ago, too -- well, I have had my fill of it, thank you. I don't expect to see improvement any more, especially thanks to social media. I've lived elsewhere, so I know what I'm talking about.

  7.  @AnnusMirabilus  Exactly. Apparently, a lot of people don't care for this journalist. I never saw him before or heard of him. I thought he was great here. When some of the most poignant things come out at the very end, like the story about friends who committed suicide and the Bob Marley quote, you know he got a rapport with her.

  12. In every other country, the "left" is saying exactly this -- we need alternatives to shutdown, we need to sit down together, we need a plan. Shutdowns are senseless. Here, the DNC destroys small business, throws people out of their homes, and jeers at them. Wow.
