@dootdoot94xo44 This is so exceedingly rare, maybe as rare as one child in a billion, and all the children become profoundly socially deficient. These are not Disney stories, and the children are not "raised by," but alongside of, wolves or other animals. It's not heartwarming, it's horrifying. A few escaped slavery or indentured servitude, or a parent who was so alcoholic they failed to care for them. Some never had normal speech. I don't think a single one adjusted to urban society or got married.

@therealdeal3672 But that fact is exceedingly well known. Oprah creates blockbusters in the book world. Her endorsement is literally better than the Pulitzer Prize or the Nobel, almost always.

@therealdeal3672 She's worthy of criticism. Anyone who avidly promoted The Secret, not to mention Dr. Phil, is very worthy of reproach. Why not mention the books? Odd that you don't.

@Nope2022HugeTheWarningFan Well, people interested in actually reading have to look to the Nobel, Booker Prize, and so forth, and pay attention to British writers and reviewers, and the few surviving small presses, to unearth contemporary gems. Even the acquisition lists of major public libraries and the recommendations of their librarians are valuable. Like anything else, rabid capitalism unbridled turns culture to sh___.
