@SuMMeRFLi5 First of all, you do not have the correct timeline, which her own attorney presented during the press conference she called to announce her lawsuit. The search of the child's backpack was not initiated by her report. Second, you have no evidence that Ohio law requires her to immediately call the police due to the suspicion she had and articulated, which is the only thing that counts with respect to her suit. Third, even if it were true that calling police was required, it does not block her law suit. A mistake, even of that nature, is not full assumption of risk. (Where did YOU go to law school? Don't worry, attorneys know how to keep people like you, who think you know the law better than the judge does, off of juries.)

@SuMMeRFLi5 Shadowed, my dear. You can see them, no one else can. Several had that happen. Where did you say you went to law school? And have you considered counseling? People who lash out at a young woman who was shot in the chest, and whom the police praised for her presence of mind and exceptional courage, may need to speak with someone. The principle you mistakenly allude to has no relevance to this case.

@gen-xboomer I wish that were true. It is much more often true today than it has been in 40 years, but now a new divisive bunch is trying hard to reverse that. Or at least that's the effect.

@leehaelters6182 Well, to the best of my knowledge, the brave little boy who reported that he was threatened by the kid who ended up shooting his wonderful, lovely, and brave teacher is also black. But I was not "keeping score" in that regard, for either child. I find it odd to point out the race of the shooter without acknowledging one of the early victims who at a very tender age tried to prevent a school shooting. WHERE WERE THE ADULTS???

@SuMMeRFLi5 Abigail Zwerner did not observe any gun until a few seconds BEFORE SHE WAS SHOT. With a life-threatening injury, she nevertheless escorted her students out of the classroom. Go back and look at the official statements and press releases the police issued.
