  1. No, this is nonsense. Is it or is it not the duty of adults to keep pushers and predators away from minors? It is. If we all sprang from Zeus's head as full-fledged adults as Athena did, then I would agree. I'm saying this as someone who never joined any social media whatsoever, and only joined YouTube to save videos during the pandemic last year. It has already drawn me in too much.

  2. Responsibility comes when you have real opportunity. When someone does all they can to find ways to manipulate other people, are they responsible for doing that? Or is all the blame offloaded on those who succumb to manipulation?

  4. Leading universities have courses on psychological engineering that look for ways to make various applications "sticky." Clearly they believe there is ample evidence we have the ability to design programs that make it difficult to stop using social media. How did Mark Zuckerberg become a billionaire before age 30? Can you eat or drink Facebook, does it heat your house? Someone is paying vast sums of money for this "engagement," which was never paid for any other form of advertising.
