He wasn't prescribing it for anyone. He was describing its nature and effects, from his standpoint as a mental health professional.

@JIRM88 Sheer nonsense. If a psychotherapist is entirely unfamiliar with the effects of commonly-prescribed psychoactive medications, then he is incompetent. Even social workers have a familiarity with such medications -- anyone who might treat a person with a psychological disorder has to be able to spot such issues, in order to alert their patient or their psychiatrist in case of a problem. Whether a particular drug had a very unusual effect on a particular person is beyond the ability of anyone who has not treated that person to judge. That I agree is true. Dr. Grande is not diagnosing Brittany, but informing us about likely and unlikely side effects of medicine she is purported to be taking. Strictly speaking, we do not know her diagnosis or her prescription medications. Those are all confidential.

When I hear about her work schedule and how she is treated when she is not working, I am shocked. If she isn't well, why doesn't she have ample relaxation, regular walks in nature and visits to the ocean, a wholesome diet that she enjoys? All of this is essential for recovery and for maintaining mental balance. Wouldn't most people with emotional illnesses who are being forced to work 70 hours a week, even occasionally, have problems with their mental and physical health? If she's so fragile, all the worse. That schedule requires a supportive environment and solid health.
