@edweard I've seen this, too. It's not the usual thing, but it isn't rare.

This reminds me of the Wichita swatting case. There was another swatting case recently where police swarmed the home of a 60-year-old man, who dropped dead of a heart attack.

Look up swatting.

@nektulosnewbie Milgram is controversial, but most researchers accept the result as legitimately informative. I don't know about the other two.

@nektulosnewbie I will! All of this research interests me.

@esteemedmortal5917 Check out the Lex Fridman podcast from Sept. 1 with a real virologist. The segment on ivermectin research is time stamped. Full discussion.

Didn't Dr. Grande present a report where police briefly followed a car they were trying to stop, the driver drove slowly, put on his turn signal, and stopped at the closest well-lit area? This only took about a minute, and the driver's intentions were obvious. I believe the police drew their weapons and wrestled him to the ground. Am I remembering this case correctly? There was a debate concerning whether a person has a "right" to do what most law enforcement advise you to do! Fake cops appear in my region all the time. Real cops always say to be cautious on dark, secluded roads.

All of us have worked retail. When did any employer explain to us what their loss prevention policies are? If you do not sign that you agree to be held and searched in case you are investigated because of a suspicious loss, why should they be allowed to hold you? That should always be false imprisonment. You should have the right to walk out of ANY job, unless you promised in advance to cooperate with investigations. This is a contract, people!
