Why can't you? Do you speak any foreign languages?
1
@S.A.U.1489 Well, a secure base is one you can move from more easily, if it ever becomes necessary. A move from the Midwest to Florida or Arizona at age 75 is not easier than US to, say, Switzerland at 62, but people do it all the time.
1
@S.A.U.1489 Exactly!
1
"The enemy is us."
1
@bryanemmel6516 It is immensely difficult to win tort cases against major multinational corporations, which he has consistently done.
1
@bryanemmel6516 Various drugs that have been proven to be safe and effective only turn out to have unexpected risks when used in millions of people and in combination with other drugs. I support a multivariate analysis for all of these drugs, which is hard to do, takes a lot of time, and is expensive.

Samantha Power cares about Samantha Power, not the American people. Samantha Power cares about Samantha Power's power.
1
Global dollar hegemony allows us to run phenomenal deficits with no real ramifications, and military might is one factor in that hegemony. Significantly smaller than other factors, but nevertheless essential.
1
@lbdeuce Why don't you look it up in a Webster's? I did. It had several definitions.
1
@lbdeuce You might also print out or buy a stylesheet.
1
@lbdeuce I shouldn't be here at all. A bad habit I only developed during the shutdown last year.
1
@mayamichelle6741 People think "socialism" is trannies and "d___th panels." And Hillary and Hitler. Bill Gates.
1
Nah, they should just shut up and pay. /s
1
Unsub from Dore. Better plan.
1
Internet Research Agency is basically running experiments -- to see what effect these social media interventions might have. This information is much more important to them than the supposed aim of designing posts to "influence an election." I don't believe they were even trying -- a good part of the trolling occurred after the election. See the Adam Curtis documentary, "Hypernormalization."

The HSBC story was fully reported by The Guardian. Surviving families of the Mexican drug cartels' victims sued HSBC, and the class action was dismissed for jurisdictional and procedural reasons, not based on the substance of the claims.
1
But it's simply true. A lot of it is experimentation, frankly. They try something, then watch what effect it will have, if any. It is a way of gathering information. The US is constantly threatening the RF. They consider these moves against the US to be "self-defense."
1
@reginaldstubtoe4185 It may not make sense to you, but it is a well-known tactic of theirs, and a way to collect intelligence and test propaganda. But have it your way.
1
@Internetbutthurt I have seen evidence, though not from American sources. I knew that by the time of Reagan. Who didn't?
1
@Internetbutthurt I'm not going to post links, as the entire post is likely to be shadowed or censored, but my main sources are Stephen F. Cohen (books, and articles in The Nation) and the BBC documentarian Adam Curtis. Both are controversial in different ways. I read/watch critically, and can put together the pieces for myself. I know I've used other sources, including RT and RT in France as well, etc., but my main ones are Cohen and Curtis. Cohen is certainly not unsympathetic to USSR or RF, and Curtis is not exactly a fan of the US.
1
@Internetbutthurt You misunderstood. I've had a good idea of how much the US lies, at least since Reagan. I wasn't living in America during most of Reagan. Though to be honest, America lies so much that it's naive for anyone to claim they can keep up.
1
@Internetbutthurt I found an article in The Nation right away. I loved Cohen, what a loss. Nearly all of Hillary-promoted Russiagate was nonsense, or worse. I hope you don't think I'm crediting that story.
1
"If the murder of black youths by authority figures and the system generally can be ended or attenuated in the here and now by shaming the dominant group, it is not an unworthy goal, although far from adequate." There is no legitimate way to argue against this. The fact is, the premise that "the murder of black youths by authority figures and the system generally can be ended or attenuated in the here and now by shaming the dominant group" never happens. Seems to be going the opposite way, as one would expect.
1
It hasn't been that way at least since Napoleon in modern times. A gross underestimate, but striking enough to elicit agreement I hope.
1
@Will_Moffett You didn't watch it, but . . . Briahna's video is not an interview of Kennedy but of Dr. Prasad, analyzing Kennedy's assertions. They take it slowly, point by point.
1
@raindogs451 See a (real) neurologist. That response wasn't even marginally normal. Blocked.
1
Wow all the people Russiagating for free must feel real stupid right now.
1
Voted for him in the primary, of course, but once he picked Joe Biden, I suspected. Once he bailed out Wall Street, everyone knew.
1
@terrysteaveson7192 You are right, naturally, but that is hardly the point.
1
8:20 holy shit
1
I describe myself as Liz Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, and Catherine Deneuve rolled into one.
1
Listening to this makes me think . . . many peoples all around the world share a custom of being polite and respectful to their elder scholars. I have to wonder whether the disgraceful behavior of various careerists toward Professor Cohen ended up harming his health. I wish we had that custom, for lots of reasons.
1
Tremendous guest, thank you. Why don't more people know about Dr. Horne? I love the latest fiction: that college is a hotbed of radicalism. The most common major by far is, of course, Business, and has been for many decades -- more than a generation. The next most common majors are in Biology and the health sciences. A general business degree, without advanced math or accounting, often won't be a college-level program. It's there as a demonstration of obedience, to reassure your future employers. An art degree from a top school is a better education.
1
@kristinchamberlain531 A propensity to believe in Russiagate is based on prevailing racial stereotypes. It would be very hard to get Americans to believe these things about any Westerners.
1
Purely weaponizing the term "anti-Semitism" to serve neoliberal capitalists! What a thing to seize upon, given that actual anti-Semites do exist. To think anyone would use the term in this way, for political gain, is chilling. If anything should be off bounds, this should.
1
14:18 et seq. Everyone should judge for themselves. The 1619 Project is not a work of historical scholarship based on researching original sources, which is what real historians like Horne actually have to do.
1
@jordanallen3078 I could believe this, with proper evidence. Definitely not too strange to be true.
1
How so? Horne did not endorse the 1619 Project. Who has reviewed HIS new book? His book meets historiographic standards.
1
Have you listened to him, or only to other sources about what his position is?
1
@MFK1967 I don't think so. He would never signal to Russia what he would do if elected. That was obvious.
1
poofendorf You have absolutely no idea. FIRST, not all the charges admit of self-defense; it is not a defense to all of the charges pending against Rittenhouse. SECOND, a person cannot cause a dangerous situation and then claim he acted in self-defense. This is why a thorough investigation will be necessary, to see who did what, when, why, and with what mens rea.
1
@-Thunder It wasn't his business to defend. He was not legally present in Wisconsin because he had no right to be armed or to cross state lines to engage in any endeavor while armed. You do know private security guards are licensed, insured, and bonded, and of AGE?
1
poofendorf Pfft.
1
Now I get it. Making an autistic child a hero helped pave the road to Joe and Kamala.
1
Good.
1
Eugene Fisher DanielT made that up. Tell the truth. Does legal recreational marijuana have something to do with this?
1
@drewdrewson1384 They all do now, if you are in a fragile state. Even the one that comes when you call 911.
1
@drewdrewson1384 "Answers will not appear in this space" but may or may not emerge out of the shadows using the Newest tab/sorting function.
1
At least they still bring Adam Curtis documentaries, but other than that . . .
1
I noticed only one feature of the riots that resembled a coup: some police appeared to be affiliated with or infiltrated by right-wing militias and other extremists. This calls for an investigation of them, not more monitoring of us. Who is monitoring the monitors? Who ARE the monitors? . . . Affiliates of these rioters? Compare Kenosha.
