  1. My goodness, ME TOO! I mean, when I think of the people looking forward to some respite from the pandemic, and spring, and instead they have war, it destroys me. At the same time, the West is a gilded cage, and the sheen is fake, it wears off fast. It is neither a free life nor a good one.

  3. I really liked Ben Aris and admire his perspective and his style, but there is one thing I can't quite get past. Westerners always seem to assume, tacitly, that the raw materials of non-Western countries have to be shared with them. Why? Why should every country's resources have to be shared with countries so quick to eviscerate that country at the first opportunity? What is a free market? Isn't it the freedom to say NO, I do not want to enter into contracts with you? Wouldn't that be included in a free market? I assure you that this attitude is not part of the non-Western mentality. I can't get past it. Russia does not owe natural gas to Western Europe. Will the West attack Russia to get it? Your heating, your problem. Isn't that what is said to the working classes by Western neoliberals?
