  1. That would be a good start but wouldn't necessarily show the real difference. There could be something fundamentally different about the two groups apart from vaccination status. For example, BMI, educational level, vitamin D status, number of times they have had COVID, which COVID variants they have had, pre- or post- vaccination COVID for those who did take the vaccine, and so forth. Obviously age is a major factor as well. Multivariate analysis is needed to figure this out, and multivariate analysis is expensive and takes careful judgment and time. (Surprised we don't have it yet? Me neither.)
