If medical personnel could approach a patient to administer opioids and benzodiazapines, it is perfectly legitimate to ask why, with proper precautions, a member of the immediate family who was already exposed to that person at home could not be permitted to visit. A LOT of people asked that question, in other countries especially. I recall J-L Melenchon, the French leftist in particular, being appalled by it.

To think that compassionate use of ivermectin caused doctors to lose their hospital privileges. To think that simple vitamin D would have increased many of these people's chances of recovery.

In addition, it was proposed that those who had recovered from COVID could assist medical personnel in caring for those who had it. Seems to me like a lot of things that would have been normal to do were somehow quashed.

@margaretgreaves7246 That's your view. "We were at war" -- I object to war metaphors in this context. Immediate family was already exposed. So were medical personnel allowed to "take it back to the community?" Could they see their families? At least in the case of patients, we knew their closest relative in the same household, who probably brought them in, was already exposed. I love the lack of logic and the violent metaphors. We can trust your judgment. /s You have no business attacking anyone.

@margaretgreaves7246 Well that's a great reason to administer end-of-life drugs and to isolate the sick when it was counterproductive. Campbell has been to Africa on community health missions throughout his career AND during this time, which involved interacting with people who were not vaccinated and may not have been already infected and recovered, or may have been asymptomatic carriers. "Was the response perfect? Nothing is." Anyone could use that excuse, about anything.
