I also express my condolences, but please know this is a different disease. The real crime is that no one will investigate what happened to your friend. They will pretend there is no causal connection.

@deedaagenie Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis; genetics plays an important role, but so do other factors. Genes alone do not cause it.

@tiergeist2639 There may be an association between the two, but no one as of yet has concluded such a close connection.

@tiergeist2639 I meant Alzheimer's and ALS. ALS is not the same disease process. As for the va xx, anything that provokes a strong inflammatory response can be a factor in neurodegenerative disease. We know Guillain Barre Syndrome is associated with this va xx as well as a few others.
