@negrildoc Exactly. It is long past time to depoliticize the issue and do a careful, systematic inquiry. That safety report provides ample reason to open a serious risk-benefit analysis, by demographic. Neither this politician nor anyone else really knows yet, at least not for younger people -- which is exactly the problem. We know pretty well to recommend it to men over 50 and women over 60, and probably a lot of other people as well. But now I wonder. I don't think it was fair to push it on adolescent boys, or on most people under 30. It does not halt disease or spread, and we know it was never promised to.

@pmm8621 Prove that up. I indicated where anyone can find the German report cited by the MP. There is plenty of evidence to warrant a careful inquiry. No one knows how that will turn out a priori, because a multivariate analysis has to be done, and that is neither easy nor quick. A lot of things could be happening -- people who already had COVID might be at higher risk from vaccination, people with low vitamin D levels may be at risk for COVID or the vaccines or both. Being shut in may have contributed to obesity or excess drinking, and that plus stress could be behind the various heart issues, more so than any other factors. We need to find out. You, apparently, need to trash the people sounding the alarm. You need to ask yourself why.

Perhaps fewer people are as stupid as you think. I don't know that, and you have a lot more information to form an opinion about it than I do. @pmm8621 I'm reminded of the possible breast cancer cluster in the San Francisco area, which took a LONG time to analyze. It turned out that the number of cases, though higher than what may have been expected, was within the norms of the demographic affected, and the "cluster" was not statistically significant. Yet it was important to let women know to be vigilant, and do what little we could determine might lower risk (such as exercise, occasional fasting, more plant-based foods, vegan days, etc., and of course regular mammography). Similarly, we DO have a problem with vaccine injury, and we DO need to get to the bottom of it. Screaming at the victims is vile. Multivariate analysis is not easy, and takes a long time to complete because there are unavoidable judgment calls to be made. The report from Germany is a basis for starting a serious inquiry. I don't prejudge how it will end. There is too much signal amidst the noise. Dismissing it is bad faith, and does nothing to reassure the public concerning the integrity of the medical system.

@pmm8621 Did you know, for example, that last year the Swiss Ministry of Health recommended only one dose of an mRNA vaccine to all those who had recovered from a proven case of COVID? My closest friend received her first dose, not knowing she had already been exposed to COVID, then was sick from COVID, then was rushed into her second dose as if she had never had COVID by her doctor and the state health department. Her side effects were massive, and included a serious bout of memory issues. She should have waited three months for the second dose. She now refuses boosters. Do you grasp why? Please think it through. No one would admit to her that they did not know what was best, and no one would apply the usual principles, such as the Precautionary Principle and the Hippocratic Oath, to her case. No one treated her as an individual, and now she has lost faith. NOT GOOD. Don't try to lay this at the doorstep of the John Campbells of the world.

@pmm8621 Where did you copy these talking points from? It's what is known as "boilerplate." It is simply inaccurate to say that "the COVID vaccines" have the same safety profile as "other vaccines." First of all, "the COVID vaccines" don't all have the same safety profile as each other, by any stretch. Moderna, for example, has already stopped being used for males under 30 in MANY COUNTRIES. Those of us who are actually informed have been doing things like reading articles from major medical journals and watching to see what the ministries of health of other major European nations are doing. Germany, France, Switzerland, and every Scandinavian country is following different protocols than the CDC; vaccine mandates and passports for people under 18 have already been made illegal in France, and the French Left took the lead. It's easier to demonize and cast aspersions on anyone who doesn't toe the line in the English-speaking world than it is in other European countries. Those of us who are multilingual and multicultural sure do know that, from bitter experience.

@pmm8621 By the way, the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is now strongly disfavored where I live. They were giving it to walk-ins for months and months, no appointment necessary, at an outpatient clinic affiliated with one of the best hospitals in Chicago, last year. Now they recommend that people take an mRNA vaccine unless there is some reason they cannot. YOU are misinforming people. It's not working out too well, either.

Something IS wrong with this picture, and we don't know what. We need to find. You know, I never thought significant risk of myocarditis in young men from a vaccine would ever be brushed aside like this. What happened to people? How did we get here? Well, we haven't been sending that population into wars in sufficient numbers lately, so . . . maybe this is just reversion to the norm.

I have expertise in federal evidence rules, especially the Daubert standard. I know how to read the major medical journals. You put your foot in it. It makes the case that questions concerning a full cost-benefit analysis of vaccines, by demographic, are well-founded. We don't have the answers. We have people trying to shut down the questions. He has been threatened by YouTube, and could be banned at any time, with no recourse. This would mean his videos from long before this pandemic would be removed, and he really doesn't want to see that. How many need to be vaccinated to prevent one death? How many who are vaccinated experience serious side effects from the vaccine? These are numbers that need to be very carefully vetted in order for people to make their decision -- and it should be up to them. Lots of doctors opposed to mandatory mass vaccination do believe some people should be vaccinated (such as all people over 70, most people over 50, those who are obese, etc.). Clearly they are doing the cost-benefit analysis with the data they have.

I believe the answer won't be easy to arrive at, because multivariate analysis is hard. I believe we should start the serious inquiry now. Many first responders were fired from government jobs for declining vaccination. Australia came close to strapping people to chairs. I don't deny the existence or seriousness of long COVID. All non sequiturs. Why do you bother?

Of course the virus has been isolated and genetically mapped. It likely came from a lab in the first place, though we never were able to obtain confirmation of its origins, from the "experts," with any reasonable degree of certainty.

A moment of reflection concerning the vigorous debate as to its origins, and the terms of that debate, and the references to its genetic code, should be enough to convince you. The debate itself presupposes the isolation and genetic mapping of the virus, like a tsunami presupposes an earthquake or other massive displacement of land somewhere.

@scottekoontz The safety report provides ample evidence that a serious, comprehensive inquiry concerning the risk-benefit of the vaccines, by demographic, needs to be conducted. It won't be easy; multivariate analysis never is, and we live in a politically poisoned atmosphere, where most people are interested in lying low and keeping their income safe. Quite reasonably so.
