There are simple blood tests for vitamin D and B12 levels. The tests are certainly recommended for people over 50. That is how you know.

There have been studies that showed irascible people with cancer have longer disease-free life than those who are meek and compliant. Self-censorship seems not to be wise. But we can't be sure, really. I remember the myth of the "cancer personality." We find all kinds of exceptionally cruel ways to blame victims for their plight. Maybe get that Vitamin D test?
