@joeycernak4220 Her claim is that he never even remembered her birthday, among other things. I wish kids would not go public like that. It is so unwise, and the press shouldn't push them. Remember Heather Graham? Her parents could not forgive her for Boogie Nights, and she was hysterical in that film. Her role was no worse than an edgy SNL skit. She always refused to discuss it with the press. She very politely shut them down on family matters. I hope she stuck to that.

@saylorgirl799 That said, why do you trust Prager on such a sensitive matter? Prager literally defends everything Netanyahu does. (Lots of Israelis don't.) We know why I can't elaborate. A person does have to look behind today's "influencers," especially where family is concerned. I saw your post, agreed with everything else you said.

@tisenhow I know. Shakespeare and Plato. Who knows what the kids might think after reading that stuff? They don't admire great writing, they just try to Please Teacher -- and then The Boss. There are "low prestige" public colleges with night classes in every major city, and great professors who got shoved out of the politicized private universities for not playing the game. You don't know unless you go.

@carolmcln5028 It's interesting to read the comments from the people who think this is a material issue versus those who see it in a more spiritual light. In most countries, higher education barely costs anything. It's considered just as necessary as K through 12 (and in many places, it starts with excellent preschool). Parents owe their children an education, and they need to do their best to provide it if they can. Having a rift like that with your child is devastating regardless of what you spent on them or didn't. No matter what she encountered at college, short of powerful drugs, it did not deprive her of free will.

@carolmcln5028 How do you know it's a good video? Is it part of the new anti-sending your kids to college scam? Every one of those people will do everything they can to get their kid into Harvard or Yale. They make money spouting stuff like that, then spend it on their kid to make sure he gets ahead. No, I wouldn't listen to anyone who approves of torture, regardless of the subject. We went through that here.

@carolmcln5028 Also, in case you didn't know, in-state tuition used to be so inexpensive that a full-time summer job at minimum wage covered the entire year. That's what it was like when I was a kid. Is what college costs today fair? Why isn't it a right for school to be something you can work your way through? Why have these kids' lives been ruined by both parties? The Republicans demanded the cuts that forced in-state, public university tuition to skyrocket, and the Democrats pushed bizarre ideologies and ugly culture wars just as hard as Republicans did, if not harder. The minimum wage in my state is $14 per hour. $14 × 37.5 hours per week × 14 weeks should equal one year at the state colleges. That comes to about $7300 gross. That should cap in-state public college tuition. Why doesn't it? That's over $3500 per semester, hardly chicken feed.
