@Dan-ger82 A friend of mine got the first shot, after having already contracted COVID without knowing it. Then she developed COVID symptoms. She got better at home after about a week, then a few weeks later was due for her second shot. Her doctor and the department of health told her to get it. She was severely ill for four days, but did not need hospitalization. Turns out most doctors would have told her to wait at least 60 days, and up to 90 after her first shot to take the second. Wow, just wow.

Have people noticed how low the vaccination rate is in Japan? They are hosting the Olympics. In childhood vaccination, they are known to follow a slower schedule for most vaccines, to complete them by the time children start school but not sooner, on the theory that it's safer and better. Is that their plan for COVID? Or is something else happening?

Let us know how she is. It is supposed to be no more than a flu-like illness for vaccinated people.

@VladislavZhirnov True, but this is odd because they are hosting the Olympics. Masks in the US were politicized. Insanity! Suddenly we don't need them if we are vaccinated -- so, it's a manipulation to single out the unvaccinated. It is evident that masks are necessary indoors where there are too many people to social distance, or where people breath stale air for hours. California brought them back for indoor use.

Survival is about 97-98%, except for except for . . . Over 70, preexisting conditions, worse disease in men than women, and 20% prolonged disease, including anything from blood clots and serious organ problems to a foggy mental state and clinical depression that get better in 6 to 12 MONTHS. Are the warnings nevertheless excessive? I think they are. But let's not minimize COVID.

@KB-sv7fm Certainly true, they don't. Nor do they know everything about the vaccines. And boosters may present a design problem: remember how people got sick from the second dose but not the first?

@KB-sv7fm I get my news from British and French sources, peer-reviewed journals, and the websites of major medical schools. Not from insufferable louts with their pretence of superiority. Or from American media. No one with options should trust that. Reports on the pandemic include stock prices of the various vaccine makers, and no one blushes.
