Begin with the legal status of the corporation, as an entity separate from its board, c-suite, and other agents: corporations are designed to LIMIT LIABILITY. That's why Tony Hayward didn't lose a cent of salary already paid to him, or stock profits he took earlier in the year, when the BP well blew in the Gulf, nevermind that people were killed and permanent harm was done to the ecology of that region. (A short time later, he and a Rothchild started a hedge fund trading oil and other such basic materials. Made way more money, of course. The blowout was a win for him.)

@jgalt308 It most certainly does. That is why the British say "Limited" -- that is, "Limited Liability." Truth in advertising. Say. Where did you go to law school? 🤣

@jgalt308 Where did I say "immunity?" This was not a discourse about certain drugs.

@jgalt308 JUST THE OPPOSITE. Agents and principals of a corporation are not held personally liable when pursuing the legitimate business interests of the corporation. If there is a legitimate tort case against the corporation, then it may only be satisfied with CORPORATE ASSETS.

@jgalt308 Nor am I British.

@jgalt308 Some "civil infractions" (sometimes called TORTS) certainly are included in the limited liability rule. Listen, I have no problem with someone calling themselves JGALT making an utter fool of themselves. Blocked as time waster.

You do not know the first thing you are talking about. Fortunately, most people upon seeing tombstone paragraphs containing obvioys cut-and-paste "word salads" realize that.

@jgalt308 I had a case where the corporate veil was successfully pierced.

@jgalt308 The LEGITIMATE business purposes of a corporation do not extend to criminal acts, of course, or to civil fraud and such --- and no one suggested as much. Any more things you care to get wrong in one post? Heaven forbid you compose another.

@jgalt308 Is this even worse than the insistence of a dozen Americans that "zero isn't a real number," said in response to a math video, not meant in some metaphorical or philosophical sense? Tough one. Nah, that was worse. But it's close. This one may matter more, that's for sure.
