I know this might sound glib, but honestly, we cannot be so dependent on the evaluations of others -- and yet I know very well that we live in a time when their (stupid) opinions have exaggerated importance. Bigger things than "the right college" are at stake: she needs to eat good food, get good sleep, get outside, walk walk walk . . . And read. Have her go to the library and read something she enjoys all the time . . . always have a book going that isn't on any reading list except her own. Have other interests, too, and build competence. My heart BREAKS for these kids, I knew that what they've been facing before COVID was unfair, but this has gone off the charts. All young people are at risk for depression now. It is so important to prevent that. Put the big goal first. Of course she'll be fine!

  2. I agree with that. Some researchers have been pointing out that the best childhood vaccines, administered at the right time, make children's immune systems stronger overall and resistant to other infections, not only the one against which they were vaccinated. I say research vaccines and be sure to get those. See what other countries are doing. I always check other countries' ministries of health online, like UK, Switzerland, the Scandinavian countries, Germany, France, Netherlands, etc.

  4. Sane and stone cold crazy -- there is also that. I'm "Euro-left" and this new mob active here is something I cannot recognize except as pathological. I have no explanation for the new insanity. Peterson just called it a toxic brew. He is being too kind.
