This is the same shock I experienced listening to a French station discussing freedom of discourse and the war in Gaza. Judith Butler was invited to speak in Paris, and her talk was canceled by the mayor of Paris. The leader of the Jewish peace group that invited Butler was so well spoken that it was stunning, after all the bullying we are subjected to all the time. She was so calm. She appreciated the gravity of the crisis and was so diplomatic. And she is only the leader of a small group, not a nation.

@joeb134 At my age, possible. Those things are like crises. Pressure builds very slowly, problems appear to be averted, the numbers look better numerous times, . . . then all of a sudden, whoosh.
