  1. A newscaster can present the facts in the light most favorable OR unfavorable to any politician. He can make moral judgments of a politician's actual conduct, or defend that conduct. What he wasn't supposed to do was make stuff up.

  2.  @HaveYouTriedGuillotines  There is a lot of truth in this, and with your assessment of how pernicious this systematic lying has become -- and yes, media lying is just as extensive as Trump's compulsive lying. I think there were ways in which Trump was uniquely bad, but nowhere near as many as were pinned on him. It would require a calm, sober, evidence-based analysis to delinate them, something which is not found in contemporary MSM -- nor does anyone on that front want to do it.
