  2. The lack of analysis on everyone's part is deeply troubling. Why was a minor tried as an adult in the first place? Is anyone asking this question? As for the acquittal, it needs to be discussed count by count, using the jury instructions as the basis. There was evidence of recklessness with respect to the McGinnis count. But I disagree with trying juveniles as adults. We all know why that practice exists.

  3. Exactly. There is no analysis here, either. There were recklessness counts as well as homicide counts in the indictment, not to mention the fact that the gun charge was dropped. Take the jury instructions count by count. Ask why a generation after Columbine Wisconsin's legislature was incapable of drafting a reasonable and constitutional gun law with respect to minors and others. But they bemoan the lack of analysis.
