@cmontes7961 Especially when you take great pains to hide it, and to use your grant-making authority to bully legitimate dissent into instant, complete submission. Lots of money flowed upward, lots of lives were destroyed. I don't see a problem. He meant well.

@cmontes7961 Intentionally lying to Congress under oath is not legal. Using your authority over the NIH budget to bully other scientists is not legal. Finding dubious ways to skirt the Obama moratorium on federal funding of gain of function research is not legal. As far as his doing such a bad job during the pandemic is concerned, that's on Trump. Trump could have removed Fauci and sought better advice. That might have caused more honest scientists to be more candid about their concerns, too, and would have opened up an honest discussion. Trump helped empower Fauci. We were steamrolled to no good end.
