I think it's wild that we are still hearing the story that government is the enemy, when we have turned ad men into the biggest billionaires in history (Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc.), once they figured out a way to marry advertising and surveillance, AND induce us to hand over our data voluntarily. I have to admit it's brilliant . . . But that's who you trust? The fact that corporations took over the government is exactly why we're here, and the mantra is to get out of their way so that they can dominate us even more.
