Where did you get that one? 😂
8
@bdfunke Was this the subject? She also didn't say anything about Hunter Biden, Hillary Clinton, Ukraine, Burisma, Google, . . . I guess she's cool with all that.
7
So does everyone else here. See, for example, 11:20.
6
11:20 Not what she said at all. Do your eyes glaze over faster than President Mummy's do?
4
@jodihouts6032 Try . . . Listening? You have the timestamp. Listen twice.
4
@jodihouts6032 I apologize, but I am sick to death of people misrepresenting what is DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF US. Here, she advocated for the NASA model, where the best engineers are sought to work directly for a government agency with a sound scientific and technological mission. NASA was better than any private enterprise.
4
@utah_koidragon7117 I don't see that she placed the blame on Musk. It was a government official who actually said he could not speak to the free press if Musk didn't want him to. Whether that is true or not, the official said it. It's obvious whose fault that is.
4
@jodihouts6032 Monopoly capital is antithetical to a free market. But I understand how the demonstrably false equating of the two took hold.
3
@trekporter365 Just the opposite. A free market is indeed conducive to democracy, and we have neither.
3
Brie has always recognized this. This was why she made the point about NASA at 9:28.
3
@annettemacdonald9192 She started out by SAYING that this is one policy with which she happens to be generally aligned with Musk's apparent view, but that that wasn't the point.
3
@utah_koidragon7117 As far as accountability over billionaires, there are a number of things that could be done: there could be strict enforcement of antitrust laws, there could be an end to massive tax breaks, where many large corporations spend FAR more on lobbying -- including for tax laws they like -- than they pay in taxes, then lend money to the government via T bonds, and our taxes on our income pays them interest, and closer scrutiny of the grant of corporate charters. Corporations are not natural kinds, but are creatures of the state. It should not be nearly impossible to lose a charter or pierce the corporate veil. On the other hand, it is clearly bad faith to call for "accountability" when it comes to something that Musk had absolutely no obligation to do in the first place, and . . . Brie didn't.
3
@nzalog 11:20 Who should, in principle, control US foreign policy? How did you like entrusting Bill Gates with vaccine policy?
2
11:20 See? Under 30 seconds.
2
@utah_koidragon7117 Well, Musk has been one of their contractors. Could they decide not to continue to contract with him if he proves to be sufficiently unreliable in his agreements --- which he freely enters into, of course? She did mention support for NASA.
2
@polarxta2833 "She basically said," except she didn't. I wonder how many Musk fans used to praise Bill Gates. I'd laugh but it's tragic.
2
@utah_koidragon7117 Re: your most recent post 💯 I certainly do not disagree with a word. I mean, seriously, how?
2
That's exactly Brie's point.
1
Could the federal government buy Starlink using Eminent Domain?
1
You're all crazy. Thanks for proving it by mentioning Ball.
1
@utah_koidragon7117 💯
1
She did support the NASA model, actually. 9:28
1
Brie supports the NASA model at 9:28. No one heard it?
1
@jodihouts6032 Capitalism and the free market are two different things. The rise of debt peonage from the very beginning of one's adult life, for basic necessities like education and health care, should have altered people to the fact that the structure we have been taught is a lie. People have less and less freedom, and it is objectively measurable.
1
Show me where.
1
@utah_koidragon7117 Agreed. But let's see 9:28, and then 11:20.
1
It's funny how people's eyes glaze over and they become incapable of listening to what a person is actually saying the minute someone rich is mentioned. Why is that?
1
@nzalog Pro tip: People who read regularly have no trouble with parsing embedded clauses. Really. It's a thing.
1
@utah_koidragon7117 And do you have an "irrational hatred" of Bill Gates and George Soros? I don't, but I do apply the very same logic to them as to Musk, and so does Brie. I want their influence out of my life. Life has gotten far worse since this whole cabal entered the Shadow Government. All of them are plainly disturbed, they cause grave harm on a global scale, and their antics are probably due to their irrational fear of their own mortality.
1
@utah_koidragon7117 9:28 See, she did say it. This is what NASA once did.
1
@polarxta2833 It is a fact that you and I have literally zero control over the board of directors and the c-suite of any private corporation, and that at least in principle we do have some influence over the political process taking place in our government. She said we don't have enough. Say, why do you think the First Amendment does not apply in the private workplace? I mean, unless you possess some contract, union or otherwise, with a free speech clause? Hm?
1
@DavidV619 The same fan boys of Musk today were just as meek and delusional as those who were once kowtowing to Bill Gates. Some people have a need to be submissive to those with money. Pick worthier heroes.
1
@bdfunke She says the very same thing. That is why she brought up NASA and the NASA model.
1
@utah_koidragon7117 As to your last question, I was ready to say no, but then I remembered, private corporations have sent so much production of basic materials offshore that we may be relying on possible adversaries for steel and rare earth metals. Not good. A private company is under no obligation to manufacture here, or to use suppliers of its materials based here, if it can make a greater profit by doing those things offshore or by trading with the suppliers based in other countries. But what happens if we need those things for our defense? Our defense is what kept the shipping lanes and the air and ports safe for those very companies. They could not do what they do absent US presence. It's most obvious in the Persian Gulf, but it is true everywhere.
1
Brie said so right at the beginning.
1
Not what she said. See, for example, 11:20.
1
He IS a government contractor.
1
She said exactly the opposite, right from the start. Wow, is everyone suffering from the same cognitive issues as Biden?
1
@thomaskalbfus2005 Tell it to Elon. Of course, he is a private person and does not need to listen to you.
