@amarissimus29 And authoritarianism is not a way of knowing science, unless the empirical question is the purely instrumental one, of learning how to coerce people into doing what you want them to do. Then you might want to study authoritarianism scientifically.

@jimperdue6166 What is clear is that a free inquiry concerning the origins of COVID were actively suppressed. What isn't clear is exactly why.

If he is entitled to any immunities for his actions while in government, then those immunities do not disappear once he is out of government. That would be anachronistic, and doesn't make any sense, either. Even Clinton had to face a private lawsuit while president. Being president didn't result in an automatic stay until he left office. Being a government actor here does not shield Fauci, either. In any event, Louisiana, Missouri, and several individuals already sued Fauci and others, and Fauci's deposition is available online. So, he has been sued and deposed before his retirement.
