Comments by "L.W. Paradis" (@l.w.paradis2108) on "CANCEL CULTURE Strikes Again—NYC ‘Bodega Bro’ Mobbed, FIRED Over Viral TikTok: Liz Wolfe" video.
These companies demand a level of general culture that young people do not have and the companies themselves don't have. The disturbing part is that kids STILL don't know social media is treacherous because it is a new type of extremely powerful advertising married to surveillance.

She gave a legal/legalistic analysis.

@peteh1792 Is law school for women "excessive education?"
3
Cancel her? You would if you could.
3
@nicolkirk6396 How not? She said he should get an attorney. She also pointed out the REALITY of living in an at-will employment world. Do you think this guy is somehow entitled to a job? Why? No one in my family EVER got a fair shake in the workplace, not one time. Not since they arrived in 1950. "Undesirable ethnicity." I'm going back to where I'm from. Thanks for the ride.
3
It's called at-will employment.
2
@pmberkeley Well, either you aren't listening to her or the fact that she automatically makes very legal/legalistic distinctions is not clear to people. What is it with people reacting before they hear the WHOLE statement? Wasn't that Liz's point as well? Olayemi isn't rich or elite at all.
2
What part of at-will employment is lost on you?
2
@Takobella He doesn't understand her points. He might not be used to the law applying to people of his color persuasion. At-will employment is a reality. I'm always surprised when someone explains the law to people and they get apoplectic. You mean you were counting on it not to apply to you? You're used to that?
2
@korysstone 5:15 Olayemi states he is entitled to bring an employment law claim, and acknowledges he moved to New York in reliance on this job 8:50 Olayemi states she would not have fired him.
2
@nicolkirk6396 I like Olayemi more and more. Learn to spell names.
2
@alexanderplatypus3664 Doesn't count. The people here are trying to cancel her, for chissake.
2
It's called AT-WILL EMPLOYMENT. Duh.
1
@shin0bili A very thin Title VII stands in the way, just barely. But it used to be perfectly fine, yeah.
1
She is the ONLY person who gave the ONLY legal reason he may have a complaint: he moved to New York in reliance on this job. Missed that part?
1
She said she wouldn't have fired him.
1
@peteh1792 IF what she says is based on her actual knowledge and experience AS A PRACTICING ATTORNEY, that is legitimate. If she uses that fact to support her opinions, as if they were inherently more valuable than yours or mine simply because she has a certain expertise in a highly specialized field, then that is elitist nonsense. Fallacy of appeal to authority . . .
1
@pmberkeley Olayemi stated twice that he has a right to pursue an employment law claim, and added toward the end that she would not have fired him. 8:50
1
Yeah, get rid of the lawyers and have more white people.
1
@alisonschmitt9533 WOW HAVE YOU ALL LIVED IN A PRIVILEGED WORLD. Here's a clue: it's called at-will employment. A second clue! This is how the nonprivileged have always lived. What do you think? Two clues for free. I'm being too generous.
1
Cancel her. Show how you oppose cancel culture.
1
@WeToddEd-r3g If true, GOOD. Why is this bad? Stand up for yourself.
1
@LtCdrRoyFokker "her previous behavior" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 You sound like fun.
1
@emiliavenka 100%+++
1
@emiliavenka Sadly!
1
@bperez8656 Well, even Olayemi did NOT say he should be fired. She even stated twice that he should consider consulting an employment lawyer about a claim. 8:49
1
She said she wouldn't have fired him.
1
You sound like it's you who needs the protective bubble.
1
@DukeNukem421 OH THAT'S THE STANDARD! Do tell us more.
1
Not what she said.
1
@twoshedsjohnson8540 I agree with that.
1
@twoshedsjohnson8540 Reread this. Well said, all true.
1
At-will employment is reality. Social media os treacherous is reality.
1
No she didn't.
