CRT has turned into pure sloganeering in the service of career advancement for elites, who themselves are predominantly and disproportionately white. CRT has a place in academia, provided there is free and open discussion about it, and robust critique, as well as comparative analysis of other theories and positions. To present it to K-12 as something they are supposed to take on faith is travesty. And that's being too kind. Should college students read The New Jim Crow? And Slavery by Another Name, and Franz Fanon, and Baldwin, and Cornel West, among others? Of COURSE. But I'm presuming they already know some Rawls and some J.S. Mill, and some statistics. And that there is academic freedom in the house. (Oh well.)
