@captain_malaria Risk? As if you can't replace them if they don't work out? If they are not earning that wage? Pay kids a token wage, they won't work hard. Makes perfect sense. They are rational actors, too, and have no reason to take the job seriously. They aren't wrong. It's playing out right now. In the meantime, the adults who have to keep those jobs and live on them are stressed and frustrated, picking up the slack and suffering age discrimination, afraid of being blamed for anything that goes wrong because they make a dollar an hour more than the new kid. That's how these places are run.

How is it that so many of the world's richest people started companies that made no profit for YEARS . . . and even got tax rebates? Or paid much less in taxes than to lobbyists? How does that work in a "free market?" I remember when only Soviet companies didn't worry about profits. LOL
