The way Tucker elevated Kyle Rittenhouse into a hero --- and I don't mean his interviews with him after the trial, which were very good journalism --- I mean praising Rittenhouse's decision, at age 17, to go to Kenosha with an AR-15 in the first place, was appalling. (This was not with Rittenhouse's mother's permission, contrary to initial reports.)

Whenever I happened to have solid, independent knowledge of something Emily talked about, she was wrong. But to be fair, that is almost always the case, for all media, and the "legacy" newspapers most of all.

@patricksmith4148 LOW BAR

@patricksmith4148 I don't think she's deceptive, either. She has a fairly decent fund of knowledge for her generation, but the general level is not high. Techniques of persuasion have replaced rigor. This phenomenon is so common and has such a long history it is literally one reason Athens lost the Peloponnesian War. I wish I were kidding.

This CLIP of Tucker Carlson is completely inadequate to judge the interview. We don't know why Tucker is being asked what he is being asked. We don't know what they are both commenting on. IRONIC.

@spindragon You live in the real world. Count on serious pushback. 🤣 Remember, money itself has become virtual. We have to believe it's real, or else. There are a lot of things we had better not see through.

We didn't see enough of this interview of Carlson to judge why Smith is pressing this point. This was a totally inadequate excerpt. How ironic. 🤣🤣🤣

@spindragon Thank you. That freaked me out completely, and I agree Rittenhouse was misunderstood and wrongly maligned, but WOW. That anyone would praise the decision of a 17 year old to do that in the first place is MIND BOGGLING. I think it was New York magazine that did an investigative report about his family. They are totally decent people who had it very hard. Tucker played with them, too. He doesn't care. At least the post-trial interview was good, and gave him a chance to say what he had to say. Anyone who knew anything about his family wasn't surprised that he supported the black lives matter principle. His older sister went to one peaceful march.

@myopinion378 Did you see the whole interview? It was actually very good overall. Too short, too much interrupting. They moved on to another topic after this. I would have liked to hear more.

@myopinion378 I'm so sorry, I don't. Links are generally shadowed in any case, being hard to monitor for TOS violations. I found it as an embedded video on a website, no paywall, but it took a while. Sorry to be so unhelpful! :/

@slowginn7712 Who still watches television? Is that, like, a boomer thing?
