Money can eliminate the issues that make people unhappy. Starting from that baseline, a person has a chance to be happy.

@lilly5758 Thank you. My late mom used to say that.

Has there ever been a worse time to be poor?? Not in my lifetime.

GOOD FOR YOU! Absolutely right.

Thank you.

@MultiKalwin You two exemplify exactly what the first comment said. What a sad way to prove his point.

@socialenigma4476 I know this is just talking points to you. "Your precious indigenous people" -- you're not ashamed to write that. Don't call yourself a "European." You're an amerloque.

@socialenigma4476 Keep proving the points of the first two posts. We're good with that. Whether you see it or not is pretty irrelevant.

@MultiKalwin What does your observation, even if it were true (though I wonder how you would know), have to do with anything? Are WE living in peace? Are WE a democracy? Are we civilized? Do rapists, human traffickers, and drug lords have coteries of admirers, defenders -- and money launderers? In the very same country that holds the most incarcerated people on earth, and often uses as forced labor? Well then, let's hope the BRICs can form an army, invade, and set us all straight. That would be the "logic" you endorse. You're a funny one to say someone else has their head in the sand.

@socialenigma4476 I think your feewings are the issue. You're the one swearing -- already! That was quick. "There there, sweetiekins, did a mean lady say you don't get to have your own facts? Well you do get to have your own facts! So there. Go ahead, you tell her!" America is less than 5% of humanity, but it is dependent on the largest military that has ever existed in history, and on other countries to buy its Treasury bonds for its "lifestyle." Rather than getting into pointless battles of talking points about the 1600s, contemplate that for a while. Maybe you'll come up with some ideas. After the 1940s, I don't think anyone can say Europeans prevented more atrocities than they caused. Funny, Europeans know that now. They face the truth.

@MultiKalwin I'm not the hater in this picture. Are you that out of touch? You're identifying what you feel, and imputing it to someone else. You both go for ad hominem so fast, too -- you seem to think every political/philosophical disagreement is personal in the first place. I joined YouTube during the COVID lockdown, I have never used any social media before, and this has been a royal waste of time. I had no idea what the level of discourse was -- although that is a lesson I should have learned, I guess. Anyway, I didn't know.

@MultiKalwin OH MY GOD!! They sold the slaves to the white people!!! And the white people said, "no, no, we don't want to buy," but those terrible greedy pushers made them buy, and buy, and buy, and buy . . . It was practically like Jeffrey Epstein, forcing all those underage girls on those nice upstanding men, who only wanted to help. I could just cry thinking about it. SO unfair! Thank goodness none of them are in jail. /s

@MultiKalwin No. You do. You said that people of European descent improved the world by colonizing and subjugating it. I said no one improves anyone through invasion and subjugation. You really don't hear yourself? (Reminds me of what Jimmy Dore says to the DNC: "You don't hear yourself?") I also said your claims, even if true, are irrelevant. Of course they're not true. But even if they were true, they don't justify colonization and genocide, anymore than another power would be justified in invading the US after the next George Floyd or Breonna Taylor, or child separated from parents at the border and never reunited, or whistleblower tortured in prison. To be clear, I am not calling for the BRICs to come.

@socialenigma4476 We are entirely dependent on our military for ensuring the dollar remains the global reserve currency, which is why we enjoy the standard of living we do. You connect the rest of the dots. This is tiresome.
1
@MultiKalwin Not what I said, either. In fact, I said the opposite. There is no "best." Right and wrong, good and evil have literally nothing to do with race, creed, color, or descent.
1
@MultiKalwin Okay. I did. Is that better? Whatever you need to be true, is. I promise.

I'm afraid I disagree. I live in an area where, within ten minutes, there are immense mansions in one direction and frame ranch homes that looked like parked trailers in another -- and pretty much everything in between. I've never seen the quality of life depend so much on money as it has since March. The people in the mansions are having a great time and getting richer. The poor people are suffering more than ever, and they are very afraid. They don't know what the next month will bring. Sure, an occasional billionaire will be miserable. No homeless person is happy.

Yeah -- for the author!
