  1. This was Bill Gates' plan all along. Remember how you used to buy a CD-ROM with the MS Office Suite on it, and now it's a yearly subscription? I remember articles in the financial press 20 years ago saying he was trying to find a way to charge a toll for Internet use -- and these were his friends writing about it.
