@MrRjsnowden Press for a diplomatic resolution now. This war will end with diplomacy in any event, hence the sooner the better. The US is still poking the bear, to no purpose except its own. Do you imagine we are helping Ukraine now?

Ryan, too, actually. Robbie sounds like he needs a lollypop.

@qfbaby22 Not a rah rah event I don't think.

@MrRjsnowden The rhetoric Putin Man Bad is for domestic consumption, not for Ukraine's benefit, not that our ghouls actually care. We need to approach China, and do so with utmost respect. This UN vote was ill-timed -- oh, and take a look at the map to see where the 35 countries are that abstained. It's not a pretty picture. Diplomacy means toning down the rhetoric, first of all. The country that has dropped the most bombs on the rest of humanity, including the only two atomic bombs ever detonated, and that tips its weapons with DU, provokes Russia then humiliates Russia. Well, it still has ideological hegemony and is making sure everyone knows. No one in this picture cares about Ukraine.

@franciscomap75 And Afghanistan and Iraq are WHAT? Do you even know the (brown-eyed) civilian death toll?
2
@franciscomap75 Sloganeering
2
@virtuosa69 Actually, I even have a quick example at hand. Actually, two: The Soviet Union under Stalin (Ugh) banned lobotomies, a full generation before the US did. America dropped two atom bombs on civilians. Soviet citizens stopped a nuclear exchange twice. Arkhipov and Petrov. Look it up. Or don't. Be right. You gotta be.

It's really important to name call. What took you so long? Also, consider a fresher repertoire.

@keithramaphele4278 Kim covered this the other day. The UN vote is telling -- look at a map of the countries that just abstained.
1
@franciscomap75 Someone who wants an immediate diplomatic resolution is a "russian bot?" I think not. Also, not a "Mr." Shoot for three of five, or is that already gone? You just can't win.
1
@virtuosa69 Maybe you do. Maybe most people do. I don't. Ponder that. It's true.
1
@virtuosa69 I lived abroad for a big chunk of my adult life and found out what I, personally, was missing. Sorry, you can't dupe me ever again.
1
@virtuosa69 Do you know we collaborated with tribesmen in Afghanistan who practice ritual child abuse? Do you know our servicemen who protested were told to shut up? Do you know that one of our servicemen who refused to let it go and bravely continued to try to stop it was assassinated by an older boy integrated into this practice, and this boy was very lightly punished? I refer you to the New York Times for these stories, not some fringe publication.
1
@virtuosa69 No one said it was "okay." It is a list of horrors you seem to think no one can top. I beg to differ. On second thought, you did say so. It was you who said American crimes are okay because there are worse crimes. That's what confused you into thinking I reason as badly as you do.
1
@virtuosa69 Also, try spelling. Doesn't your account allow editing? Or are you upset now?
1
@virtuosa69 The best you can do . . . Wow, even I didn't expect this lame.
1
@virtuosa69 Yeah, readers are thinkers. Too hard a habit to break. Apologies, forgot to block you.
1
@virtuosa69 P. S. There is nothing you need to do. I already made my home available to refugees from Ukraine, if it's needed. My parents were WWII refugees, so I know.
1
@virtuosa69 Mine is much larger, in four languages. No idea of the value. Never tried to find out.
1
@naijaplayer The UN vote to remove Russia from the Human Rights Council? China, India, Indonesia, Brazil, South Africa -- most of Africa, actually -- both Iran and Iraq, and Mexico all voted against the resolution or formally abstained. Among others. You don't notice a pattern?
1
Brilliant analysis. We are all in danger now, and it was needless. Putin had been holding back because he had no choice. See the Andrew Cockburn interview on Democracy Now! The West has the ideological hegemony to create "unworthy" victims. Russia does not have that. (Nor should it. No one should.) No one knows how many civilians the US killed across the Middle East and in Africa. Remember Shock and Awe?
