Well, there were a lot of people in South Africa who opposed the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, so I'm not sure that some people won't always find a reason not to have a serious discussion of history. But Truth and Reconciliation, and hashtag mobbing over pronouns -- or CRT authors for kids too intellectually immature to comprehend them, for that matter -- are very different things. Yet they got the same pushback. Why?
