The government cannot deprive any person of rights or privileges on account of their protected speech. Even when it comes to benefits the government does not have to confer, if it decides to confer them, it can't make distinctions based on protected speech it doesn't like.

  44. @utah_koidragon7117  He most certainly has a right to be here because he has a green card. It cannot be lifted arbitrarily, on the whim of a new administration. Why would a British security clearance be anything but in his favor -- unless he obtained it under false pretenses, or lost it for misconduct? (In which case, prove it.) We share intelligence with the UK and consider them our closest ally. By the way, "rights-privileges" discourse was abandoned by the Supreme Court decades ago. People still think they sound smart when they say it, though.

Find me one modern Supreme Court case where the majority opinion agrees with you. Even Guantanamo prisoners were deemed to have certain rights. Glenn Greenwald explained it well, just last night.
