Have you ever met anyone who says "Choose Life" and means both words equally? How can you make something a true moral choice and a crime? How can you believe in "choose life" but put money above life?

@mosesappleby4357 No one born has to use the body of a single individual to stay alive, or force that individual to risk her life to give birth to them. Even a father cannot be forced to give his toddler a pint of blood, though most of us would think he was immoral for saying no. Anyone who says "Choose Life" and really means both words equally is fine by me.

There are aspects of individual privacy that should be regarded as constitutionally protected, against the superior force of any state actor. We can debate which ones those are, but the wholesale abandonment of privacy in our time has been a disaster. How is it your business whether a woman is four weeks pregnant, or whether she has in-vitro embryos stored? Or whether she is capable of becoming pregnant and safely carrying a fetus to term? Or whether the father of the fetus just started beating her, putting her at risk of severe mental illness?

With the most affluent increasingly using in-vitro fertilization and amniocentesis, does anyone believe the fertilized egg will be declared a human person? "Pro-life" is the ultimate phony virtue signaling for politicians whose agenda has nothing to do with anyone's welfare. The same politicians show contempt for the vulnerable ("the least among us") every day.
