  2. @mns8732  I couldn't tell you where in The Wealth of Nations he said that, I don't remember any more. His point was that a group could conspire to subvert the free market, and he suspected that some wanted to reimpose their old feudal privileges instead of earning by producing wealth under the discipline of free markets. At the time, it was the landowners who had the most power to do that, obviously.
