@-Thunder Florida is 18. But this is old news. Why now? He was a Congressman who took down a Speaker years ago. So, where was the prosecution then?

1. I don't think anyone who committed SA should be Attorney General. 2. I don't believe this is a first. Don't make me laugh bitterly. 3. This is a Congressman who brought down a Speaker . . . In other words, he was exceptionally powerful. Why do they suddenly realize he's unfit to wield such power, which was no less than the power to bring down a man who was in the chain of ascension to the presidency? The timing is suspicious.

@amarreder6241 1. I didn't say he was charged. 2. Right. I don't. 3. They knew he was powerful then (I'm not questioning the whys, I'm stating the obvious). Why are they after him only now?

Sworn testimony as to what a person themselves witnessed is not hearsay. If the lawyer is not reporting what his clients are prepared to state under oath before a court or other official proceeding, it may be ignored.

@andrewblue146 Yes, thank you. And the federal Mann Act for crossing state lines for this purpose is 18. The most common age of consent is 16, but some surprising places, like Florida and California, set it at 18. New York and Illinois are 17. Do some states set it at 15? I'm too lazy to look. I think 15 is common in Europe (the logic being, two full years after average age of puberty).

@donquique1 It depends, doesn't it? You imagine you could arrest half of Wall Street for this?
