  1. Yanis Varoufakis is excellent on this point. As long as we have the national debt and trade deficits we do, the money needs to cycle back -- and where do you think it is going to go? It's funny that he is dismissed as a "Marxist," when half of what he tells you is perfectly consistent with "conservative" principles. Of course Marx himself endorsed what was true in Adam Smith, insofar as it was true. (And why not? It would have been both wrong and politically weak not to.)

  2.  @Metal0sopher  Glenn Greenwald just published the whole videotape on his Substack page. The whole thing is even worse than this. The speaker is an offensive creep. His claims may or may not be true, but it is true he made them.

  4. What Michelle Alexander told you about how contemporary racism works, well, that's how classism works now, too. People refused to believe racism is actually pervasive, because the laws don't explicitly endorse it anymore. Now classism is just as pervasive.

Wall Street needs the Chinese to place their dollars in our markets, and to allow them access to its markets, of course.
