The California Supreme Court in the Yelp case ruled that Section 230 shields companies from having to remove specific, proven defamation: this doesn't involve damages, it doesn't require banning a screenname, none of that. A plaintiff gets a judgment, the plaintiff tries to get the defendant to remove the defamation, he cannot. So he goes to court to get an order to get the platform to remove it, meaning only what was already proved to be defamation. The Court said no. Section 230 means they don't have to.
