We not only shun but heap scorn and virtually stone anyone who doesn't have it, and worship anyone who does, regardless of the circumstances. We treat Musk and Gates like oracles. Gates can propose to try to blot out the sun to end global warming. We have fanciful ideas about where profit comes from and how, and above all we pretend the armed forces have nothing to do with it. There are no forms of slavery or servitude in the world any more. Planned collapses of industry and finance that force families from their homes are natural disasters. The most perverse behavior by those who seek profit is natural. If a dating app makes money, then that's how you should meet people. If your parents or spouse hold you back from "success" then get rid of them, they're the devil. If you don't, it's your own fault. Any lack of "success" is your own fault. Of all the "elite" people who consorted with Epstein, did a single one approach him and suggest that he was doing something wrong and needed to stop? When Gates tried to push Allen out of Microsoft while Allen was being treated for lymphoma, did Ballmer refuse to do the dirty work or did he jump right in? Anyone who points this out is very jealous and negative. If they could do these things, they would. But they can't, they're inferior. Take it on faith. No normal thinking process could pervert a person to this point.

@mariaangelicabrunellsolar7086 Free markets don't exist. What you've described is what capitalism is. But no, it's nothing Adam Smith would approve of. He would see the neofeudal aspects of it and oppose it. The Invisible Hand has been handcuffed by these people.

We won't end for-profit health insurance fir the same reason leading politicians intervened to prevent HSBC from being prosecuted for laundering the money of major drug cartels and suspected terrorist cells. @RJL612 Cuba has developed a COVID vaccine. We, who should have a free press, never hear about the risks and benefits of the vaccines developed there, or in China or Russia. We should know whether there is evidence of their safety and efficacy. If we're going to be mandated to take a vaccine, shouldn't we have more choices? Last I heard, Mexico has licensed six.

@RJL612 Oops, you really stepped into that. We have a situation now where most of the vaccinated who come down with COVID are contracting a very mild, cold-like illness from the Omicron variant, and need to be tested to know to quarantine or take precautions around the vulnerable, because they aren't very sick. BUT . . . We don't have enough tests. Nearly two years in, and after all the promises made.
