  2. This segment failed to address a perfectly proper and legitimate concern about the new technology, namely, its short-term and long-term side effects. When people fail to talk about that aspect of the vaccine, when they show themselves to be reluctant to say "we don't know yet, but we have a very good basis for believing . . . , because . . . , " I find my trust eroding. And I am someone who is PRO-vaccine. I've had vaccines that are optional, I've asked for vaccines that ended up not being available to me, and I am strongly inclined to take any of the approved COVID vaccines. This discourse didn't impress me at all. And when he threw in "scientists and entrepreneurs" there at the end, that really did it for me. Salk didn't profit from the polio vaccine.

  3. Another issue: it seems that COVID has had a higher death rate in men, but all of the vaccines in use so far have had more significant side effects in WOMEN. We're all feminists when it's about hashtags. Now something serious is at stake. Let's at least acknowledge it and talk it through.
