  4.  @Averageidiot44  In any case, the Russian line has been that "Zelensky is responsible." I think that's sheer rot. I no longer believe Zelensky is an independent actor. The US has more to say than he does.

  6. I think the neo-Nazis are calling the shots. I tend to believe the reports that Azov Battalion-dominated militias are threatening Zelensky's life, and might harm him if he negotiates without their approval. The question is our role. Are we helping them do this?

  7.  @Averageidiot44  There is evidence to back these reports. That isn't proof. It's a viable possibility, and it explains a lot. The business about replacing an entire population on a territory of that size is obviously impossible and unhinged. Does anyone say unhinged things? Lots of people do. Welcome to the 21st century, sadly.

  8.  @Averageidiot44  I look to reports by scholars from before the invasion for basic background, to judge the plausibility of current claims. Mearsheimer, Golinkin, Stephen F Cohen. Golinkin in particular is very much anti-Putin. Do you do that, too? 😉

  10. Even that is not clear. There are credible reports that the ultra-right have threatened Zelensky's life if he were to attempt to negotiate without their approval. Question: what is the US doing? Is it subventioning this??
