@richardmckim1313 Do you think that is because of who his lawyer was, or because factual errors in reporting were made? Factual, as distinct from commentary. Nor is it evident that Sandmann voluntarily placed himself in the public eye -- that was an issue in the case. It could be the opposite (others sought to direct scrutiny on Sandmann that he himself never sought or deserved). And no one is "awarded" a settlement. Lawsuits are EITHER settled, or result in an award. So much for your knowledge.

Yeah, and a judge and jury "were not there," either, yet they are given the much more serious task of determining guilt. How do they do that, hm? You're the one who is being disingenuous. You weren't present at any of these police shootings and lethal chokeholds, either. Have you strictly refrained from commenting on them? Are you as well informed as the reporters here on the various viewpoints presented by witnesses to the events so far?

@mrralleycat I agree with you about one thing: once evidence is carefully examined and people are placed under oath and questioned in a real court, it is amazing how often the picture changes. Even drastically. You're certainly right. Also, you can take anyone's editorial with a grain of salt, and probably should. But no anchor is required to defer to any guest, just because "they were not there." If Krystal read numerous accounts from reasonably reliable sources, and viewed the available video footage, she has a basis for her opinion. If not, not. She is not being disingenuous by disagreeing with the guest. The Hill Rising PRESENTED the guest, to their credit.

@richardmckim1313 The defamation rules for reporting and commenting on people and matters in the public eye are not what you seem to think they are. Look up "New York Times malice." Rittenhouse voluntarily exposed himself to public scrutiny around a matter of intense public interest. No one forced him to do that.

@HamishDuh2nd This is a country where scads of people think it is perfectly fine to demonstrate at state capitols while openly carrying great big guns, because they want business to reopen. Demonstrating with great big guns is a great way to get customers to patronize your reopened business. Everyone knows that.

@Bonzi_Buddy What "leftist colleges?" Who? Where? Have you ever seen one? The most popular college major by far is Business, and has been for generations. If you take Business, and fail to study advanced mathematics and finance, or take enough accounting to become a CPA, your degree is propaganda and fluff. People who study Shakespeare understand reality better.

@Bonzi_Buddy I didn't say there were none. In a country this diverse, I would expect to find colleges for snake handlers. YOU made an assertion about "leftist colleges," as if they were a social force to be reckoned with. Which ones do you mean? The burden is on you to show me some. The most common major is Business, and has been for years and years. Generations. You didn't know? (BTW, I didn't insult you. Insults are neither facts nor arguments.)

There are actually reporters who read multiple accounts and watch more than one video, and then form an impression. That is exactly the type of process a jury will embark on, and they weren't there, either. No one who was there can be a juror.
