  3. The joke is on you. There is no such thing as "liberal elites" and "conservative elites." There are two tribal factions of the ruling class at odds with one another, and clearly not very elite -- the Machine keep stuffing their pockets, they don't have to be competent anymore, and so they are not. That scares them, and they work on scaring us. (Remember European royals before that system finally imploded?)
