  1. If Donald Trump or his minions are publicly stating "blah blah blah," reporting this is news. If Trump or his minions are lying, that is also newsworthy. Is the problem that ordinary people believe whatever they hear? Solid journalism means asking Trump et al. what their evidence is for their crazy claims. But no one does this now. I still don't see how it is defamation on the part of the television network; it is defamation on the part of those who said it.
